On Jan 30, 2020, COVID-19 was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern by the World Health Organization. As of Dec 10, 2021 there have been over 267.9 million confirmed cases globally. There are currently over 5.28 million confirmed deaths. On Nov 26, 2021, on the advice of WHO’s Technical Advisory group on Virus Evolution (TAG-VE), WHO designated the variant B1.1.529, referred to by the Greek letter ‘Omicron’, a variant of concern. The decision was based on evidence that Omicron has several mutations that may impact on how it behaves.

The Chiropractic Board of Australia would like to thank all chiropractors who renewed their registration on time. If you have not yet renewed, there is a one-month late period after your registration expiry date of 30 November during which you can reply to renew. Chiropractic Board of Australia Chair Dr Wayne Minter AM has provided Chiropractic Australia with an update regarding registration, the late period for renewals, CPD first aid requirements, Professional Indemnity Insurance arrangements and the recent Board Forum on evaluative judgement.
As the peak national organisation and recognised voice for allied health professions in Australia, Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA) has an important strategic leadership role and is the body that the Federal Government and other national organisations turn to when they seek a collective view of allied health. This is a significant development for Chiropractic Australia and our members, and we remain committed to driving the chiropractic profession forward and advocating for the role of evidence-based practitioners and MSK researchers across Australia.
As of November 30th 2021, Chiropractic Australia has officially been inducted as a valued member of AHPA, joining the 23 other allied health peak bodies that comprise the AHPA membership.
Our vision for the new website was to create an interactive platform for members to be able to easily access important information, facilitate greater communication with the Chiropractic Australia support team and utilise a range of powerful features to simplify and streamline CPD for Chiropractors. Having reflected on the recent launch, and the positive feedback from our valued members, I am confident is saying that our goals for the new website have been well and truly achieved; and we look forward to rolling out a number of additional features over the coming months.
