I am pleased to have the opportunity to formally introduce our recently-welcomed Chief Executive Officer, Mark O’Sullivan. With over 25 years of experience at CEO level in member-based, not-for-profit and commercial organisations, Mark brings a strong business acumen and proven capacity for driving growth with sound governance and financial, operational and strategic management. On behalf of the board and staff team, I would like to once again offer a warm welcome to Mark and look forward to utilising his rich leadership skillset to further expand the service, representation and tangible value we exist to provide for the growing Chiropractic Australia member community.
Firstly, I would like to thank Dale and board for the kind words and opportunity to join the wonderful team and organisation that is Chiropractic Australia. I have greatly enjoyed getting to know a number of colleagues, valued members and other key stakeholders over the past fortnight, and I’m eager to develop and deepen these constructive relationships in the coming weeks. Having grown up in the culture and service of general practice and nursing, with a family background in health and allied health sectors, it’s a privilege to be able to share my personal passion and professional experience in service of evidence-based care; both for and on behalf of members.
Mark has a proven track record in providing strategic leadership to make a measurable impact on financial performance and the long-term future of member-based organisations. He has considerable experience in multi-stakeholder environments in both the not-for-profit and commercial sectors, setting the strategic direction, building value, developing capabilities, engaging with Boards and strong Government relationship capabilities. Throughout his career, Mark has led membership-based community organisations and is committed to building constructive working relationships characterised by cooperation and mutual respect.
With over 25 years’ experience at CEO level and continued professional development, including completion of the Insead Advanced Management Programme, Mark has strong business acumen and the capacity for driving growth with sound governance, financial, people, marketing, operational and strategic management. Mark is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and has Non-Executive Director experience having recently served on the Board of an Educational Institute and a Sporting Organisation. He currently serves on an Appeals Committee for The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Over recent years, Mark has successfully undertaken consulting projects for State Government and acted as a strategic advisor to a technology company in the scale up stage, specialising in traceability.
