For the first time since its inception in 2004 SpineWeek will be held in Australia from 27 April to 1 May 2020 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The week brings together spine societies from across the globe serving as the prime arena for scientific collaborations between different scientists and clinicians, advancing the science of the spine.
SpineWeek began in Porto, Portugal in 2004 and has occurred once every four years since then, taking place in Geneva, Amsterdam and Singapore. As more and more participants were journeying from Asia and Oceania region, the SpineWeek committee is excited to bring the conference to Australia.
SpineWeek 2020 conference will also be the first time that chiropractic organisations have been involved. Chiropractic Australia and the Australian Chiropractors Association are working together to deliver a section of the conference dedicated to chiropractic.
“This represents a great opportunity for Australian chiropractic” says ACA Professional Services Manager Glynis Grace. “The SpineWeek conference provides ACA and Chiropractic Australia the chance to work collaboratively on a major international event”, she said.
Chiropractic Australia’s President, Rod Bonello also commented saying, “Given the growing evidence supporting non-pharmacological and non-surgical approaches to the management of neck and back pain, it is an opportune time for the chiropractic profession to become involved in this prestigious conference by highlighting the role chiropractors can play in the conservative management of spinal pain’ noted Chiropractic Australia’s President, Rod Bonello.
