Module 1

  • Understand and apply Informed Consent
  • Understand and apply the best practice concepts of effective clinical history and examination procedures
  • Understand and apply the best practice concepts of effective patient record keeping
  • Understand and recognise the risks, contraindications and complications of spinal manipulative therapy in clinical practice
  • Understand and apply best practice concepts of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct.
  • Understand the contraindications and complications and apply best practice concepts of imaging in clinical practice.
  • Understand the Professional Indemnity Insurance claims process

Module 2

  • Understand and apply the best practice concepts of effective communication skills in clinical practice
  • Understand and recognise the risks, contraindications and complications of Electrophysical agents and traction in clinical practice.
  • Understand and recognise the risks and prevention strategies of infection control in clinical practice

Module 3

  • Understand the potential relationship between Cervical Spinal Manipulative Therapy (CSMT) and Cervical Artery Dissection (CAD).
  • Understand the indications and contraindications for the use of CSMT for neck pain, headache and migraine.
  • Be able to explain to patients and stakeholders the potential risks and benefits of CSMT, especially relating to neck pain, headache and migraine conditions.
  • Understand and be able to implement appropriate measures to reduce the risk of adverse events occurring with CSMT.
