In the morning attendees had the opportunity to hear from Dr Hazel Jenkins, Professor Michelle Sterling and a panel comprising Professor Dave Newell, Professor Stephen Perle, Dr Bobby Maybee, Dr Matthew Bulman, Dr Julie Kendall and Dr Amber Beynon.
Dr Jenkins, who is a lecturer in Radiology in the Department of Chiropractic at Macquarie University, talked about juggling the work-life balance and the insights she gained while completing her PhD. Professor Sterling, who wears a number of hats including being Director of the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Road Traffic Injury Recovery at the University of Queensland, talked about her experiences as a researcher including the positives and negatives of having a career in research.
The afternoon was given over to a mix of podium and poster research presentations the result of a excellent response to a Call for Papers. These presentations drew a large audience who had the opportunity to hear eight podium presentations and view more than 20 posters.
