Meet A Member | Stephen Sharp
Stephen has been in clinical practice for five years whilst undertaking his Masters of Research at Macquarie University. Running a practice with a colleague in Dee Why, Stephen juggles teaching a few afternoons a week with his chiropractic patients. With a clinical interest in low back pain, neck pain and lower limb injuries, Stephen also helps people with pain in the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle. Stephen is focused on ongoing education and is actively involved as a tutor/lecturer of Chiropractic students at Macquarie University for both 2nd- and final year students.Read more

Chief Allied Health Officer | Dr Anne-Marie Boxall
Earlier this week, the CA CEO, President, & Clinical Lead & Policy Advisor met with the Chief Allied Health Officer Dr Anne-Marie Boxall & senior departmental staff to discuss key strategic priorities, the role of allied health in the broader healthcare landscape and solutions offered by primary care for improving patient outcomes across Australia.
Encouraged by Dr Boxall’s commitment to bringing together allied health professions and practitioners, CA looks forward to continuing this positive dialogue.
Have your say – WorkSafe Victoria
A key focus for WorkSafe Victoria (WorkSafe) is improving outcomes for injured workers. WorkSafe is conducting a research project to improve the quality of care and treatment pathways for injured workers. The research project is an opportunity for treating healthcare providers (THPs) to provide valuable insights and feedback regarding treatment and recovery pathways for patients recovering from workplace injuries. Open from mid-January, the survey will be conducted by an independent research agency and all responses will remain confidential.Read more
WFC Omicron Variant Update
On Jan 30, 2020, COVID-19 was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern by the WHO. As of Dec 10, 2021 there have been over 267.9 million confirmed cases globally. There are currently over 5.28 million confirmed deaths. On Nov 26, 2021, on the advice of WHO’s Technical Advisory group on Virus Evolution (TAG-VE), WHO designated the variant B1.1.529, referred to by the Greek letter ‘Omicron’, a variant of concern. The decision was based on evidence that Omicron has several mutations that may impact on how it behaves.Login to Access
NSW UPDATE | Mandatory Vaccinations
Mandatory vaccination requirements for allied health practitioners in NSW have now been updated and expanded to include Stage 2 health care workers. The following information regarding these amendments has been provided to Chiropractic Australia by NSW Chief Allied Health Officer, Andrew Davison. “The NSW Minister Health and Medical Research has made the Public Health (COVID-19 Health Care Workers Vaccination) Order (No.3) 2021 which revokes and remakes the Public Health (COVID-19 Health Care Workers Vaccination) Order (No.2) 2021 with amendments.Read more
WA UPDATE | COVID-19
Yesterday (22 December 2021), WA Premier Mark McGowan made the announcement that WA workers who come under an existing vaccine mandate will now be required to have a third dose within one month of eligibility, as part of the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. The third dose will be mandatory for all eligible workers in industries covered by a vaccine mandate. All employees mandated to be vaccinated for work purposes under the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy must receive a third dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine .Read more
QLD UPDATE | COVID-19
On 2 December 2021, Queensland’s declared public health emergency for COVID-19 was extended to 11.59pm on Saturday 26 March 2022. This public health direction applies to workers in healthcare (which includes AHPRA-registered practitioners) who enter, work in, or provide services in a healthcare setting. REMINDER: From 23 December 2021, a worker in healthcare must be fully vaccinated; excepting those who are unable to be vaccinated due to a current medical contraindication and for which additional conditions (including daily testing) applies.Read more
NSW UPDATE | COVID-19
Following Premier Dominic Perrottet’s announcement regarding the updated covid roadmap for NSW on December 15th, 2021, restrictions have now been significantly eased & aligned for everyone across the state; regardless of individual vaccination status. Under these revised settings outlined in the Public Health Order (PHO): There is no requirement for private health practitioners to have QR codes under the new Public Health Order.
